If you’re really open for something different, “outside the box” of what we were all taught about how we have to live and work, then it’s important to know who you’re talking to. I’ve spent over 20 years helping people make career and income transitions as a corporate recruiter and career coach. I even wrote a book to teach folks how to use executive recruiters to make a career change. Go Google me. You’ll see that I’ve dealt with what it takes to make a living for a long time.

A few years ago, someone at my church turned me on to a home-based business that has completely altered not only my life but the lives of so many I work with. It had me realize that there are other ways than what we were taught about how to work and live life. We were taught to get the good grades (I did that, straight As), get the good jobs (I did that, major Hollywood studio),get married (I did that, and I have a wonderful son to show for it), and life would be peachy.

I’m not going to knock our upbringing. It kept us straight and focused, and served a purpose to get us where we are. But taking a look at where MOST people are, they are working at breakneck levels just to keep the bills paid so that they can MAYBE get to spend some time with their loved ones for an hour or so at night or on the weekends. At some point, people get frustrated that this wasn’t what life was “supposed” to look like. I know I was frustrated with where life had led me.

I found that there are ways outside of what we were taught, legitimate and empowering ways for people to create significant incomes from home while enjoying a LIFEstyle…rather than a STRIFEstyle.

Have you ever noticed that many of the truly wealthy didn’t become that way through their “schooling” or degrees? Michael Dell or Bill Gates never finished college, for example. What was at the core of their success, and is available to anyone if the CHOOSE it, was 1) the ability to SEIZE OPPORTUNITIES quickly and run with them, and 2) a MINDSET that attracts and produces SUCCESS.

Look, I got the degrees and I did the corporate thing…and I bless you if that’s the route you want to stay on. I even still help people there as a way of, hopefully, showing them another way. I was a Delivery Room nurse in Czechoslovakia before coming to the United States 10 years ago. I spoke very little English when I arrived!

 

 

After coming to the U.S., I worked in various medical positions and as a certified baby nurse. I loved what I did—working with babies was always my passion (and still is)—but it didn’t give me the financial or time freedom that I wanted.

 

 

 

 

When I found this business, I felt blessed with the gift that I was wishing for. I’ve always loved finding ways to help others. Thinking about starting your own business? What are your options? There are hundreds of different businesses you can consider starting, and each has its own set of pros and cons. The biggest roadblock to starting or buying a business is that they require a considerable up-front cash investment.
